The opportunity arose from an invitation by a gallery director to explore the dichotomy of black and white. The starting point was a series of photographs taken in a very bright, almost white environment.
This led me to experiment with something entirely new to me: colour inversion.
The result of the inversion was a very dark image, almost like a negative. Light becomes shadow.
What emerged is a concept of Space that aligns with my ongoing research. It respects the visual language I have developed over the years, yet introduces an additional dimension: it remains connected to reality while simultaneously taking a certain distance from materiality.
